Ongoing Training

Safety Team Training Manual

The Safety Team Training Manual consists of Standard Operation Procedures and Checklists that cover every aspect of both our campus and our team. It is designed to guide the members through our procedures to maintain a safe and secure site as well as maintaining a welcoming environment.

Training Bulletins

Training bulletins are issued weekly to provide intermediate training topics and helpful tips in doing your job. The topics covered are varied, from legal considerations, changes to the campus, reinforcement of current policies and minor medical treatments.

Signage

Our campus has added signage at each entrance that provides both plot plans and signs that direct members and visitors to various locations within our campus. Included at each entrance are Texas Penal Code, Section 30.07 signs that restrict the open carry of firearms within our facilities.

Emergency Equipment

First Baptist Church Texas City has devoted considerable resources in safety equipment. Our campus maintains a video surveillance system, and doors are equipped with Bluetooth activated door locks and security systems. There are five dedicated first aid stations, two dedicated eye-wash stations, mobile first aid kits for Safety Team members, biohazard spill kits and an automated external defibrillator. The campus is also equipped with fire extinguisher and sprinkler system as required by building codes. In addition, each area of the church is equipped with emergency lighting in the event of a power outage, and on-the-ready flashlights are located in several locations.

Security During All Events

Attending church is not just a Sunday morning activity. There are activities nearly every day of the week at our campus, including youth and senior activities, Wednesday evening services, weddings and funerals. Our church also aids home-school children through a co-op program at our campus. Safety Team members are encouraged to volunteer to cover each of the activities each week.

Want to know more?

Check out our Safety Manual, Standard Operating Procedures and Training Bulletins. We're not just focused on safety and security, but also about the spiritual well-being of our members, so we rotate Safety Team members through a variety of positions so that everyone gets a chance to listen to sermons, attend Sunday School and assist with other church activities.
